Light up your life energy efficiently

Small changes to reduce your lighting costs

You can reduce the energy consumption of your lights by up to 20% with a few small changes. Replace your light bulbs with energy-saving bulbs, turn off the lights when you leave a room and install timers, light-sensitive switches and motion detectors.

Remember to check your lighting as the seasons change

Lighting makes up roughly 10% of your domestic electricity consumption. The time to check your lighting is in the spring and in the autumn.  Control the lighting with light-sensitive switches and motion detectors and set your outdoor lighting to only switch on when it gets dark. Turn off unnecessary lights indoors. Use natural light whenever possible.

Replace old light bulbs with energy-efficient LED lights

Replace the bulbs of indoor and  outdoor lights with LED lights. LED lights consume up to 80% less energy than light bulbs. LED lights also have a long lifespan because their burning time is at least 10,000 hours. They also consume less electricity than other light sources.
