Second largest distribution system operator in Finland

Elenia is the second largest distribution system operator in Finland. It provides services to 432,000 customers in more than 100 municipalities in Kanta-Häme and Päijät-Häme, Pirkanmaa, Central Finland, South Ostrobothnia and North Ostrobothnia. We produce the services in cooperation with our partner companies. We see to the functionality of the electricity network, build the electricity network and connections, meter our customers’ electricity consumption and deliver the energy measurement information to electricity suppliers. We renew the ageing electricity network into a weatherproof network and develop smart grid solutions.  Elenia has 75,500 kilometres of electricity networks.

Energy sector services and fibre-optic network

Our service business provides customer service and diverse services related to the electricity market to energy companies, takes care of Elenia’s procurements and construction contracting and builds the fibre-optic network and its connections. Through our customer companies, we serve more than one million energy sector customers in Finland. A successful customer experience is the most important goal of our operations. To ensure this, we invest in quality and efficiency by listening to the feedback and wishes of our customers and customer companies. We want to be the most professional and competent service provider in the energy sector. We build a fibre-optic network for the needs of our customers and the developing society. 

Sustainability as the basis of operations

We renew the electricity market as a pioneer by enabling new technology and service solutions as a part of the energy disruption. The growth of solar and wind power must be coupled with flexible electricity consumption by customers as well as virtual power plants to keep the energy system in balance. We develop service solutions for this need in order to promote the mitigation of climate change. Responsibility is the basis of our operations.
