Revision of our capacity-based network service products

We are revising the structure of our current Power distribution tariff products as required by the Energy Authority and harmonising our network service products. The change concerns approximately 7,600 Elenia customers, i.e. approximately 2 percent of all of our customers. At the same time, the two largest main fuse sizes of the fuse-based network service products are being replaced by power distribution tariff products. The change will enter into force on 1 December 2026.

The change applies to our customers who use the Power tariff 1-4 product or the 3x80 A or 3x100 A fuse-based network service product. Going forward, the products for these customer will be Low-Voltage Power Tariff 1-2 and Medium-Voltage Power Tariff 1-2.

In February 2026, the Energy Authority published a regulation to harmonise the criteria for determining the payment components of the network service products of all Finnish distribution system operators, numbering almost 80.

The purpose of the Energy Authority's regulation is to:

harmonise the structures of electricity distribution fees nationwide,
improve the comparability of pricing models from the customers’ point of view,
harmonise, in particular, the basis for determining energy and power fees and time allocations; and
support demand response and the functioning of the electricity market.

The aim is to change pricing towards a more cost-reflective direction. As a result, the impacts on different customers vary depending on the baseline situation and electricity use. As a result of the reform, invoicing will be more cost-reflective in the future, which means that the fees will increase for some and decrease for some. Elenia will not earn any additional income from the change.

The change does not require any action from customers. Customers will be automatically transferred to new matching products. We will contact the customers affected by the change. If necessary, our experts can help and advise customers on the most affordable product. Customers can also use the Elenia Aina service to determine the most suitable product for them. The product can be exchanged for another product once a year.
