We have redefined our strategy for 2026–2031 in order to respond to growing expectations and changes in the energy sector. Elenia's role as a trusted builder of sustainable growth is at the core of the new strategy. Electricity networks form the foundation for economic growth, well-being and safety in society.
– We support Finland's sustainable development by providing excellent electricity network services in our operating area and by developing service business that serves energy companies throughout the country, ranging from customer interfaces to high-voltage connection lines. During the strategy period, we strive for growth in both the network business and the service business, says CEO Jorma Myllymäki.
Success factors shape outcomes
It is key to the success of the strategy that we strengthen customer and stakeholder trust in Elenia, ensure high security of electricity supply and resilience, maintain operational efficiency and our ability to invest, and achieve growth in both the network business and the service business.

The changing operating environment guides the strategy
The operating environment in the energy sector has become more risk-prone than before. There is increasing emphasis on ensuring the security of electricity supply and resilience, and preparing for exceptional situations. At the same time, electrification is progressing rapidly in both industry and households, which increases the development needs related to electricity networks.
Regulatory changes have weakened the profitability of the electricity distribution industry, and the outlook regarding the regulatory environment during the strategy period is uncertain. Cooperation with customers, stakeholders, the authorities and political decision-makers is important for stabilising regulation and enabling long-term investments.
