Ordering the installation of an electricity meter
Electrical contractors can order a meter installation and the connection of an electricity connection from us using the meter installation form (the form available in Finnish). You can place an order for several access places at the same time. Call our customer service at 020 690 025 Mon–Fri 8 a.m.–8 p.m. and on Saturdays 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
You can also use the form to order a suspension of distribution, connection, a meter for an additional access place, meter removal, meter transfer, sealing or change of fuse capacity. From the contractor, we will also need the customer’s electricity supplier. The prerequisites for electricity use are existing connection, network service and supply contracts.
Commissioning electrical equipment
Before commissioning electrical equipment, the metering panel and connecting cable must be installed, the trench must be covered and the cable must be connected to the metering panel. The contractor performs the commissioning inspection to make sure that the electrical equipment does not cause a hazard or disturbance. The inspection report must be visible at the site prior to the meter installation and the connection of the electricity connection. Elenia does not require a copy of the report but we will record the required information in the contractor register. If there are any faults in the above and the meter cannot be installed, the customer will be charged a service call fee for the unnecessary call according to the valid price list.
You can order several measurements for a connection. Each electricity user subject to the measurement will receive a dedicated transfer invoice and they can select their supplier. A site with a capacity of over 63 A will be measured indirectly, and the main distribution board must be equipped with a suitable current transformer.
Registration notification of a verification inspection or a periodic inspection
The contractor performing the verification or periodic inspection will prepare an inspection certificate for the owner of the electrical equipment and attach an inspection certificate to the main distribution board. The owner of the equipment must keep the inspection certificate for a minimum period of 10 years. There is no need to send the inspection certificate or the related information to Elenia.
