Elenia Group consists of Elenia Oy, a provider of diverse services in the energy sector, and Elenia Verkko Oyj providing electricity network services. Sustainability is the basis of Elenia's operations.
Elenia is Finland’s second largest electricity distribution system operator (DSO) with a 12% market share by number of customers. Elenia is a regional monopoly serving all customers in the regions in which it operates as defined by the licence granted by the Energy Authority (EA). The relevant licence holder has the exclusive right to build and operate an electricity distribution network in its area of responsibility.
Elenia has 74,000 kilometres of electricity network and it supplies electricity to approximately 430,000 end-users. Elenia's underground cabling rate is more than 50%. In addition to residential customers, key customer segments include industrial, services, construction and public sectors. The company has operations in 100 cities and municipalities spanning a geographical area of nearly 600 km in length across central Finland, from Southern Häme to Northern Ostrobothnia.
Energy sector services and fibre-optic network
Elenia's service business provides customer service and diverse services related to the electricity market to energy companies, takes care of procurements and construction contracting and builds the fibre-optic network and the connections. Through its customer companies, Elenia serves more than one million energy sector customers in Finland. Elenia renews the electricity market as a pioneer by enabling new technology and service solutions as a part of the energy disruption.
Elenia’s owners are Valtion Eläkerahasto (VER), Allianz Capital Partners (ACP) on behalf of the Allianz Group and Macquarie Super Core Infrastructure Fund.
